Convoitec develops its own SIP Soft Switch - Industrial Strength!

Once we embraced, like many others, Open Source products - NOW we have developed our own. Why?

• With Open Source technologies we found that in many cases changes were being made to the code base that did not work.
• Making changes to Open Source code (to make it work correctly) were problematic - even if you submit them they may not be included in the the next release so you have to keep applying them.
• It is harder to support Open Source products for commercial clients.
• Many of the Open Source products were feature rich but failed to deliver Industry Strength.
• Our experience was that many Open Source products did not comply with the RFC and often failed to correctly handly complex (but standard) SIP processes.
• We wanted to give our clients the best possible solution!
  

Are we against Open Source - Hell No! We just found that, in the case of SIP Switches and PBX's, it was too problematic and that our experience programmers were capable of writing a superior product. A product that could be more easily supported by our support staff and a product that complied with the standards that we deploy to give our clients a superior VoIP experience. In the end it is about customer service.

Does our Switch comply with the Standards? Yes, in fact that is why we did it. We have been invoking many of the neat processes that sit on the "edge" of the standard. Unfortunately what we found is that other products either did not support these features or worse "died" when they were enabled. This may be fine when you are running a small PBX for your family but is no good when your business (even a SOHO business) is relying on its telephone!

With rapidly changing technologies, like VoIP, we believe that our Convoitec SIP solution is the only way to go!
